Synopsis
Reeling from his divorce, all alone, and battling his demons to stay sober, Ethan Benson joins a task force investigating a series of gruesome murders in the Florida Keys. He's working alongside the best FBI profiler in the business, but his unorthodox approach to finding the killer immediately comes into conflict with her rigid work style as he explores the underbelly of humanity working with the task force at a gravesite, at an autopsy, and searching for clues at the scene of a murder.
With tensions mounting, the lack of concrete evidence grinds the investigation to a standstill, and it's only after Ethan stumbles upon an unrelated crime—the brutal beating of a motel desk clerk—that he discovers a key piece of the puzzle that leads him to the killer.
Full Live Rehearsal is the fifth novel in the Ethan Benson thriller series, and like all the others, it is steeped in the world of television news with camera crews, editors, correspondents, and impossible deadlines. As the pressure intensifies to deliver his story, Ethan clashes with his boss, his anchorwoman, the task force, and the profiler, and struggles with the monkey on his back that drives him to the bottle. It is only after he discovers his true feelings about a young woman he has known and worked with for his entire career that he is able to right the course and face his insecurities.
Fast-paced, with twists and turns and a surprise ending, Full Live Rehearsal is a page turner, a classic murder mystery that explores the depths of human depravity as our hero searches for the truth about a killer and the truth about himself.

“In his fifth Ethan Benson thriller, Jeffrey L. Diamond has written a psychological thriller that is taut, fast-paced, and explosive. His hero is hunting a serial killer pulled from the headlines who is so real, so frightening, so horrific, that Full Live Rehearsal moves along like gangbusters with action and suspense and an explosive ending that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. It’s at the very top of my list of books.”

“Jeffrey L. Diamond’s riveting account of the hunt for a maniacal serial killer places you at the center of the killer’s psyche and into an investigative maze that seems to dead end at every turn. It is thrilling fiction, but also meticulously researched—a textbook case that climaxes in a mind-bending twist.”

“I've been following the riveting tales of Ethan Benson from the very beginning in his first thriller, Live to Air. As a former investigative journalist, I am both captivated by the stories and the accuracy of the storytelling that the author and my former ABC News colleague, Jeffrey L. Diamond, brings to his fine work. I find myself getting very little sleep the week Jeff comes out with a new book, and Full Live Rehearsal was no exception. Not only is it razor sharp, so finely etched I find myself literally catching my breath, it leads readers on a stunning journey as Ethan faces both his personal demons and those of society. It is a truly gripping and nuanced book that advances this powerful series once again.”
—Karen Burnes, Former Correspondent, ABC News and CBS News
“Author Jeffrey L. Diamond is a master storyteller who brings to life the world of television news with its pressures, deadlines, infighting, and insatiable appetite for the big story. And nobody tells the big story better when the world of crime and TV clash. It’s a rollercoaster ride you can’t put down.”
—David Tabacoff, Former Network and Cable TV Executive
“Investigative TV producer Ethan Benson is back in another edge-of-your-seat novel that pits him against a serial killer in a cat-and-mouse game that becomes more twisted with each kill. Teaming up with the FBI, Ethan chases the story at a frenzied pace that not only stymies him at every turn but taxes every fiber of his soul. Full Live Rehearsal is everything you could want in a thriller—a dogged hero, a diabolical adversary, and a search for the truth that builds to a climax you won’t soon forget.”
—Debbie Babitt, Author of The Man on the Train
“Thank you Jeffrey L. Diamond for expertly crafting another dynamic thriller. Tourists in the Florida Keys are being brutally murdered, and TV news journalist Ethan Benson, despite his debilitating lack of sleep, his addiction to black coffee, and his ongoing urge to hit a bottle of scotch and fall of the wagon, is compelled to track down a methodical serial killer as part of a law enforcement task force. And just like the TV crime shows Law & Order, FBI, and CSI, Full Live Rehearsal has your heart pounding as you race through the pages.”
